Ladybug is one of the kindest mares I’ve ever been around. Not only is she gentle and quiet, she is jaw-dropping GORGEOUS. She has the most beautiful palomino coat, with flashy chrome too. She is even more beautiful in person. Sweet as can be, the perfect age of 12 years old, and standing 15.hh.
Ladybug has excellent ground manners, great in the stall or easy to catch out in the big pasture. Stands patiently while she is being groomed and tacked up, for the farrier or a bath, etc. She loves being pampered, and enjoys everyone petting her neck and planting kisses on her nose. Ladybug is kind of a diva, and she adores having her mane brushed and braided. She loves all of the attention!
This mare looks like a Quarter Horse, with a really nice thick build, good bone and structure.
She is super easy and enjoyable to ride, she will willingly adapt to whoever is on her back, so even if you have limited experience, she is user friendly! Very easy and responsive neck rein, and she stays nice and soft! She is very well trained.
Out on the trails, Ladybug is happy to carry a beginner who needs to grow their confidence, or she will pick up and move out if someone experienced asks her for something more. Her quiet demeanor makes for a nice, relaxed ride. Smooth as glass, her faster gait is so much fun, and you can cover a lot of ground without even realizing it. She will go wherever she’s asked, up steep banks, through creeks and mud, over logs or even through rough terrain where there is no trail, she does it all with a sweet and willing attitude. She is truly the trail riders DREAM!
So many people ask me where those “unflappable” horses are, that they can put their sisters boyfriends cousins grandma on, and not have to worry about them running off. Ladybug is grandpa-safe, she’s been ridden in the Christmas parade with the crazy loud sirens, flashing lights, and lots of other terrifying horse-eating mechanisms. Ladybug couldn’t care less, and she happily toted our kids grandad through it all, no problem, and never took a mis-step.
She doesn’t mind traffic, dogs or flags, other farm animals, tarps or really anything else that we’ve come across. She’s pushed cattle around and is pretty handy! I can’t say enough good about this mare, and I know that whoever buys her will be so happy with their investment.
